Computing nodes

Brief technical details about the cluster #

The cluster contains one main headnode (h1), two auxiliary nodes (h2, ds1), and 36 compute nodes (cl1n0[31-66]).

Main headnode h1 #

  • Server Alkazar R2D56 G3.
  • 16 cores (two 8-core processors Intel Xeon E5-2630v3@2.40GHz).
  • RAM: 64 GB.
  • HDD: system disk 240 GB.
    Raid disk /data90t (90 TB) for user data. This disk is available on all nodes. The disk is shared by three groups: users, geosci, and biomath. The total size of each group is limited.
  • OS: SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP2 (x86_64).

Auxiliary node h2 #

  • 6 cores (one 6-core processor Intel Xeon Bronze 3204).
  • RAM: 256 GB.
  • HDD: system disk 480 GB.
    Raid disk 140 TB for user data.
    Auxiliary node h2 will be available after configuration.
    This node will become main headnode in March, 2022.

Auxiliary node ds1 #

  • 12 cores (two 6-core processors Intel Xeon X5650).
  • RAM: 64 GB.
  • HDD: Two raid disks 16 TB and 28 TB.
    Auxiliary node ds1 is used as temporary data storage. This node will be removed in May, 2022.

Compute nodes cl1n0[31-46,51-66] #

  • Compute Node Arbyte Alkazar R2Q50 G5.
  • 40 cores (two 20-core processors Intel Xeon Gold 6230@2.10GHz).
  • RAM: 256 GB.
  • HDD: 480 GB SSD.
    Each node have a local disk for user data under path /var/tmp (400 GB).
  • OS: SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP2 (x86_64).
    Nodes cl1n0[59-62] will be available after configuration.

Compute nodes cl1n0[47-50] #

  • Compute Node Arbyte Alkazar R2Q50 G5.
  • 40 cores (two 20-core processors Intel Xeon Gold 6230@2.10GHz).
  • RAM: 384 GB.
  • HDD: 480 GB SSD.
    Each node have a local disk for user data under path /var/tmp (400 GB).
  • OS: SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP2 (x86_64).
